Film Review: 'Nico's Weg'

Synopsis

    One day there was a man named Nico who came from Spain to Germany to meet his aunt, aunt Yara.he arrived at the airport and met a child named Emma, ​​and she wants to play with him. nico not focused because he play so much fun with Emma. so that his bag was taken by the taxi driver because the taxi driver thought that the bag belonged to the passenger and did not belong to the man.

    Then Emma invited her aunt to help Nico find his bag, Nico didn't bring anything because his important items such as cell phones and passports were in his bag. and the only thing that Nico brought was only a photo of his aunt named Yara, and Nico even cant speak germany at that time.

     They all go to the gas station and there they finally met one of Lisa’s friend named Max, and Max suggested them calling the police regarding the lost bag because the policeman was Lisa's father.

    After that, they decided to take Emma first to Emma's friend's birthday, in the way to Emma’s friend bday party, Emma taught Nico to use German. then they arrived at Emma's friend's birthday.Nico was left alone in the car, then suddenly Nico heard about a bag lost on the news in the car radio. Finally Nico decided to contact the radio about his missing bag.

     They went straight to the police station to make a report of the loss, when asked for an explanation by the police regarding the loss case, Nico is hard to answer all of the question because of his language limitations that nico’s had. but then Aunt Lisa helped Nico to answer the information requested by the police. And in the end the police receive a report of missing from Nico and help to find him.

     After they report the loss case, Aunt Lisa invited Nico to attend a party held at her house with housemates named Sebastian and Nina, then Nico tried to mingle with them and help them to prepare the party. Sebastian helped Nico by posting a photo of aunt Yara's bicycle shop so that people those who recognize the place can tell the whereabouts of aunty Yara.

     Day by day, finally Lisa's aunt decided to look for Yara’s bicycle shop, but Lisa promised she would look for the shop when her job as a teacher was finished. After her work was finished,  Aunt Lisa and Nico went to the address that tell that bike shop is there. when she arrived at the destination, it turns out that the address is wrong.

Review

So this film tells a story about Spanish man trying to survive in German, his name is Nico. Nico is like lost in a foreign country really didn't know what to do, He lose his pasport, he lose his aunt's addres. From that Nico learn how to survive in foreign country, he learn so many expreince, he learned the languange,culture and also tried the food.

For me its a little bit boring and hard to understand due to duration is quite long and the subtitle only in German.But, this can be a fun German learning cause its like wathcing a film but in German subtutle. So, i rated this film.. 8/10.

From watching this, I learn a thing or two about the german language and culture, just like Nico. This film gives us an idea of what it's like to live in German. Other than teaching german cultures, this film also teach us to be kind to one another and to be aware on our surroundings. But it's recommended to watch for someone who want to learn German
